Students were encouraged to ‘think outside the box’ and realise that there are a number of careers out there that suit people who enjoy practical work and would excel with vocational qualifications.

Novus Property Solutions ran the workshop which gave students the opportunity to develop their ideas on construction careers and take part in an interactive ‘game show’ question and answer session.

Gill Woodman, careers Co-ordinator, said: “We run a whole host of activities, events, workshops and trips for students across year groups to give them knowledge of the wide range and diverse selection of careers available these days. Careers interviews may take place in Year 11, but we try and ensure our students have already had opportunities for careers experience and advice before they start their GCSEs. This workshop was just one example of an event we run to showcase to students the opportunities that are out there for them.”
