Council to remove traveller caravans from car park

Sussex Police was first contacted on Wednesday evening with reports that travellers had moved into the car park on Banjo Road, near Littlehampton’s seafront.

A spokesperson for West Sussex County Council said: “There are 27 caravans in the car park.

“They arrived yesterday after being evicted from a car park in Shoreham . We will be attending court on Wednesday to obtain an order to remove them from the site.”

A police spokesperson said that no criminal damage or other crimes had been reported.
