Councillors make plea to police

NEW police community support officers were asked to include Shripney in their activities.

PCSOs Ollie Smith and Geoff Gear attended their first Bersted Parish Council meeting this month to introduce themselves after a shake-up in community policing.

Council vice-chairman Cllr Tony Kemp: “We have had a great deal of criminal damage in Shripney in the past 18 months to two years. There has been thousands of pounds of damage to garden walls, which you may or may not be aware of.

“We have been promised police action but it’s never happened.”

PCSO Smith said he and his colleagues were well aware of Shripney and would devote attention to it when necessary.
