The high street brand, located in the Montague Centre, in Liverpool Road, will leave the site within the next few months to focus on online sales.
Planning officers recommended that the application be refused as it would ‘result in the loss of an important retail unit which forms part of a ‘gateway’ into the town shopping area’.
