Council's photographic competition

A council has launched a photographic competition to find 12 pictures depicting local life for its 2009 calendar.

Uckfield Town Council's 2009 calendar will be A4 sized and include information about council meetings, services and facilities.

It will be funded by advertising.

The photographic competition is open to amateur photographers of all ages who are residents within the Uckfield parish boundary.

Entries must be received by August 1. Judging will take place on September 8 and the winners will be contacted in writing before September 22.

All photographs must be accompanied with an official entry form, which are available, along with the competition rules, from the foyer of the Civic Centre, Uckfield, or downloaded from the council's web site.

All entries must be in digital format '“ prints cannot be accepted.

No-one may enter more than two pictures and no portraits of individual people will be accepted.

All photographs must be taken in or around the Uckfield parish boundary.

The Town Mayor, photographer Ron Hill, whose work often features in the Express, and the Chairman of the Uckfield Photographic Society will select the winning entries.

The 12 winners will receive certificates and book tokens from the town council. Their winning pictures will be used in the 2009 calendar.
