Crawley fire in photos: four engines sent from town and Horsham to put out kitchen blaze

Fire fighters were called to a fire at a property in Crawley this morning (Tuesday, December 20).

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service told the Obby that at 11.06am they were called to a fire at a property in Mitford Walk.

A spokesperson said: “Joint Fire Control sent four fire engines from Crawley and Horsham to the scene, as well as an aerial ladder platform from Horsham. Upon arrival firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly entered the property and located a fire in the kitchen.

“Crews used hose reels, a jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire, which is believed to be of accidental ignition, before ventilating the property. Fire crews booked away from the scene at around 1.30pm.”

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service added that two fire officers were also in attendance.
