Crawley primary school children spread some festive cheer to community

On Thursday December 8, children from Our Lady's Queen of Heaven School in Langley Green (Crawley), hosted members of the local community at their annual SVP Senior Citizens Tea Party.

The event was much anticipated, having not taken place since December 2019 due to Covid.

Working alongside members of the Crawley Catholic Parish and the SVP Charity (Society of St Vincent de Paul), students from Year 6 welcomed dozens of members of the local community, into their school for an afternoon of fun, games and treats.Assistant headteacher, Helen Connor, said: “The children did a brilliant job of making everyone welcome, spreading some much needed festive cheer. I was particularly proud of the way pupils engaged with our visitors and in the choir performance.”Local SVP Leader, Donal Quinlan, said: “Thanks to all members of the school community for hosting the Christmas Tea Party.
