Cricket Club begins to celebrate historic innings
The pedestrian gate to the club’s ground at George Meadow has for some time been in dire need of repair. The result is a fantastic solid wood gate that fits the surroundings of this ancient ground perfectly.

Cutting the ribbon, Mr Bye said “The club has to be congratulated for the efforts it has made to ‘rise from the ashes’ after the burning down of its pavilion a few years ago. The club’s efforts to preserve the ground for the benefit of the whole community are commendable. I am extremely proud to be the first person to open the new gate, and I trust that it will serve the club and community for another 275 years.”
