The Gentlemen of Battle faced off with the Gentlemen of Eastbourne, re-constituting the first ever recorded game of both clubs in 1738 and one of the earliest in cricket history.

Both teams were dressed in the costumes of the times and observed the laws of cricket as they were back then.

Eastbourne won that very first encounter, but on Sunday Battle readdressed the balance with a convincing win over their opponents.
