Bishop of Chichester calls for Megan Stammers

TO mark the beginning of a second week in the search for missing schoolgirl Megan Stammers, the Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner, has requested a special prayer space be created in Chichester Cathedral.

He also requested all the people caught up in this ‘bewildering and traumatic situation’ be mentioned in every service.

He urged other churches in the diocese, especially in Eastbourne, to offer a similar space for the community to visit.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Megan and the whole school community,” said Dr Warner.

“Our prayer for Megan, as for Jeremy, is simple and heart-felt: ‘O God, keep them safe and bring them home. Amen’.”
