Cannabis plants seized in St Leonards police search

Cannabis plants were seized by police after a man was arrested on suspicion of sending malicious communications.

Police said at around 8am yesterday (Thursday, November 26), officers arrested a 48-year-old local man at an address in Upper Church Road, St Leonards.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “A Section 32 search of the property was carried out and approximately 50 cannabis plants of varying growth were discovered. These were seized and destroyed.

“The man was subsequently further arrested on suspicion of permitting or attempting the production of a Class B drug – cannabis.

“The suspect has been released on conditional bail until December 19, pending further enquiries.”
