Car owners are being reminded to take extra care over security after receiving reports of theft from two vehicles in Battle.

A car in Marley Lane and a car in a carpark in Powdermill Lane were broken into and personal items were stolen yesterday morning (Monday, December 7).

Battle Neighbourhood Policing Team police community support officer Daryl Holter said: “Please remember to keep your belongings with you.

“There are opportunistic thieves who will take advantage of property being left unattended, especially in remote areas.”

Anyone seeing anything suspicious should contact police on 101, or 999 if a crime is believed to be in progress.
