A thief stole cash and jewellery from a Horsham house while the homeowner was gardening.

Police say that the theft happened in Parsonage Road some time between 1pm and 8.30pm on March 30.

The thief got into the house by an unlocked back door and stole the property from a bedroom.

In another incident on the same day a garden gate and back door of a property were damaged during a break-in at a house in Redford Avenue, Horsham.

And, say police, jewellery was stolen from a house in East Street, Rusper, between 4pm and 10.30pm yesterday (April 5).

Anyone with any information about the thefts is asked to contact police by calling 101.
