Court results - Mid Sussex

The following are results from Sussex Northern magistrates sitting at Horsham and Crawley.

Tercuta Anghel, 23, of Fieldend Road, London, was given a community order with 200 hours of unpaid work, a £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. She had pleaded guilty to theft from Wilko in Burgess Hill, and admitted breaching a conditional discharge for theft.

Lucienne Hachim, 42, of Slaugham Lane, Warninglid, was given an eight week jail sentence, suspended for a year, with 80 hours of unpaid work, an £80 victim surcharge, £85 costs, a £180 criminal courts charge, and an £80 fine. She had pleaded guilty to child neglect and possessing cannabis, in Crawley.

James Hall, 31, of Anne Close, Hassocks, was given a community order with £100 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to common assault, and to criminal damage. A restraining order was made, barring him from contacting the victim.

Mark Miall, 53, of Beckworth Lane, Lindfield, was banned from driving for 18 months, with a £380 fine, a £38 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to drink driving in Haywards Heath.

Daniel Sweet, 24, of Albion Way, Horsham, was banned from driving for a year, with a £120 fine, a £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to driving with illegal levels of a cannabis metabolite in his blood, at Cuckfield.

Dean Bethel, 35, of no fixed address, was ordered to pay £50.48 compensation, with a £180 criminal courts charge, and six penalty points added to his licence. He had pleaded guilty to driving without insurance in Haywards Heath, and to making off without payment from a petrol station in Crawley.

Troy Smith, 24, of no fixed address, was jailed for 20 weeks, with a £180 criminal courts charge, an £80 victim surcharge, and six penalty points added to his licence. He had been found guilty of causing criminal damage to a door in Hassocks, and of stealing a motor scooter in Burgess Hill, and pleaded guilty to common assault in Hassocks, two counts of failing to answer bail, driving without insurance and driving without a licence, theft of a bicycle, common assault, and three counts of theft from supermarkets, all in Burgess Hill.

Katie MacIntyre, 50, of Gower Road, Haywards Heath, was fined £220, with a £22 victim surcharge, £85 costs, a £150 criminal courts charge, and three penalty points added to her licence. She had been convicted in her absence of speeding.

Mick Beard, of Fairfield Road, Burgess Hill, was fined £440, with £93.75 vehicle excise back duty, £90 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had been convicted in his absence of keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road in Burgess Hill.

Robert Moon, 65, of Eastern Road, Lindfield, was fined £660, with £93.34 vehicle excise back duty, £90 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had been convicted in his absence of keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road in Lindfield. In a separate case, he was fined £110, with a £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge, after pleading guilty to driving without an MoT certificate at Ansty.

Jason Jordan, 26, of Willow Gardens, Hurstpierpoint, was fined £100, with a £20 victim surcharge, and a £180 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order by contacting a woman in Burgess Hill.

Slah Hassine, 45, of Ifield Road, Crawley, was given a community order, with a £230 fine, £250 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge, and £85 costs. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault in Haywards Heath. A restraining order was made, barring him from contacting the victim, or going to an address in Haywards Heath.

Jamie Fuller, 26, of Leylands Road, Burgess Hill, was fined £120, with a £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and three penalty points added to his licence. He had pleaded guilty to speeding at East Grinstead.

Sandra Rice, 69, of Royal George Road, Burgess Hill, was fined £220, with £56.25 vehicle excise back duty, and £90 costs. She had been convicted in her absence of keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road in Burgess Hill.
