E-scooters seized in Hampden Park following anti-social driving reports
Sussex Police carried out patrols and seized e-scooters following reports of anti-social driving in Eastbourne.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the patrols took place in Hampden Park and the Hydneye on December 27 and 28.

The spokesperson said: “During these patrols, officers encountered individuals with privately owned e-scooters being used in areas where their use is illegal, as a result both were seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act. (Section 59 allows police to take action against vehicles used in a way that causes alarm, distress, or annoyance — including illegal or antisocial e‑scooter use).
“Officers remain committed to responding to your concerns, and we hope that these results offer both reassurance and respite to local communities, as well as reinforcing the message to those causing ASB that it will not be tolerated.”
