Chichester District Council confirmed that travellers have arrived at Oaklands Park.
"We have undertaken a joint visit with our partners in Sussex Police to assess any needs and a notice to begin legal action has been given," a spokesperson said.
"Our council officers are regularly visiting the site to ensure that the area is kept tidy.”
