There were also a few counts of burglary, an armed robbery and a third sentencing for historic sex offences. Here is a run down of some of the criminals jailed in September and the back end of August.
5. Kamil Kaminski, Brighton
Twenty-two-year-old Kamil Kaminski, of Elmore Road in Brighton, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man at the St James' Street Co-op on July 9, leaving his victim with a facial injury. He also admitted taking a Piaggo scooter, failing to comply with traffic signals and driving without insurance and a licence in Elmore Road on April 2 this year. He had also forced a driving licence. Kaminski was sentenced to 42 weeks in prison, banned from driving or applying for a driving licence for 16 months and ordered to pay £500 compensation at a Brighton Magistrates' Court on September 12.
6. Michael Stonestreet, Hailsham
Michael Stonestreet, described by police as a 'prolific burglar', was caught on CCTV stealing cash, tools and building materials from a house in Eastbourne. The 32-year-old carer, of Butts Field, Hailsham, also stole jewellery and and other items worth around £7,000 from a house in Hailsham. His fingerprints were found on a window frame. He was jailed for two years and eight months at Lewes Crown Court after being charged with two counts of burglary.
7. Peter John Howard Webb, Horsham
Ex-teacher Peter Webb, 77, was sentenced for the third time for historic sex offences at Christ's Hospital School, near Horsham, where he taught in the 1970s. He was jailed for 12 months for three counts of indecent assault on a boy between 11 and 12 years old. He had already been sentenced to a total of seven years imprisonment in 2015 and 2017 for indecent assaults on five other boys between 1974 and 1984 at the same school. He was still in prison during this latest trial, on September 9.
8. Tobias Denyer, Eastbourne
Tobias Denyer, 38, was jailed for 44 weeks on September 14 for persistently breaking a criminal behaviour order that banned him from various town centres. Denyer was barred from Eastbourne and Brighton town centres for abusive behaviour and in September alone was arrested three times for anti-social behaviour in Eastbourne. On September 12, he was arrested again in Grove Road, Eastbourne, for abusing passers-by and remanded in custody. PC Franklin Lester said it was hoped Denyer could now have a 'period of reflection' on how he treats others.
