In July, and the last couple of days of June, Sussex saw paedophiles, thieves, drug dealers and more sent to jail for their crimes. Here are some of the most high profile.
5. Mark Thursting
Mark Thursting, 57, of Lower Rock Gardens in Brighton, was jailed for five years on July 15 after pleading guilty to charges of attempted burglary and burglary with intent to steal. A 'prolific offender', he was caught in a house in Queens Park Road and seen peeking into neighbouring homes.
6. Richard Robinson/Gary Rogers
Richard Robinson, or Gary Rogers, 64, was jailed for ten years on July 6 after stealing more than £200,000 from two female care workers who he had pretended he would marry. He had his victims, from East Preston and Mid-Sussex, sell their homes and transfer money to fake accounts.
7. Zack Staniford
Zack Staniford, 19, of Cavendish Way in Eastbourne, was charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article after robbing the Co-op in Meads Street, on May 26, armed with a hammer. The labourer, who stole £385, was jailed for 36 months.
8. Dominic Killen
Dominic Killen, 39, from Whitehawk Way in Brighton, was jailed for 18 months for punching a man in the head, unprovoked, at a cash point in Brighton. His victim received specialist treatment for head and facial injuries. Killen, a chef, was charged with GBH and sentenced on June 29.
