Two men who caused a collision which left two teenagers seriously injured in Hastings have been sentenced. Liam Hide, 22, and Dillon Beeching, 23 (pictured), caused the collision in Frederick Road. Beeching deliberately drove his vehicle across the path of two teenage boys riding a stolen motorcycle. The boys, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, sustained serious injuries in the collision. Both Beeching and Hide then proceeded to assault the boys as they lay injured on the ground, before members of the public intervened and police arrived. At Chichester Crown Court on January 19, Hide and Beeching were jailed for causing grievous bodily harm with intent and actual bodily harm with intent. They had attempted to take the law into their own hands rather than allow the police to investigate. The court was told how Hide had reported his motorcycle stolen to police at about 9.30am on July 20, last year. He told police that if his vehicle was not found by midday that day he would cause serious harm to those who had taken it. In the afternoon he met with Beeching who was driving a blue BMW. Together they located the stolen motorbike in Frederick Road at 2.35pm. Beeching drove across the road into the path of the motorcycle, causing a head-on collision. The boys riding on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries. Hide and Beeching were then seen to continue their assault on the boys. One rider had his helmet removed and was then dragged across the road and further assaulted. Beeching, 23, unemployed of Grand Parade, Eastbourne, admitted the same charges and was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison. He was disqualified from driving for four years and two months. A teenager has been jailed for supplying crack cocaine and heroin in Brighton. Charlie Angel was sentenced to two years and six months’ imprisonment after he was identified as running the ‘Snupe’ County Drug Line in the area. Police were initially searching for a high risk missing person, who was suspected to have been exploited and involved in the supply of Class A substances. The 17-year-old was safely located along with two other children aged 16 and 17 at a flat in Peacehaven in August 2023, where class A drugs were found being prepared for distribution. A number of mobile phones were seized and examined, which linked all three people to Angel. The 19-year-old, of North Place, Brighton, was subsequently arrested at an address in Northampton on August 16 and found in possession of the drug line phone. Enquiries revealed he was in control of the drug line that was being used to facilitate the supply of Class A drugs. A teenage boy who stabbed a woman in Hastings has been sentenced. Thomas Waeling, 18, confronted the victim who was not known to him in a car park in front of the Summerfields Leisure Centre in Bohemia Road. He stabbed her multiple times, including once through the chest, after he had earlier taken a knife from the kitchen of a friend's home. Waeling later claimed he had to carry out the assault 'to be taken seriously'. Waeling approached the woman and stabbed her, then ran from the scene. The victim, who was walking home from a supermarket, described how she felt lucky to be alive, and grateful that members of the public and paramedics found her.
