Magistrates Court results for the Hastings and Rother area

October 16:

Andrew Crotty, 46, of Western Road, Bexhill, was found guilty of asssault by beating. The offence took place at Bexhill on September 30. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £150 in compensation. Magistrates issued a restraining order and ordered him to pay £500 in prosecution costs.

October 28:

David Lancaster, 32, of Lower Waites Lane, Fairlight, indicated a plea of guilty to unlawfully taking a Ford Transit vehicle. The offence took place at Hastings on February 19. He pleaded guilty to failing to stop following an accident on The Ridge, Hastings, on the same date, where damage was caused to another vehicle, and pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance. The court made a community order with a requirement of 120 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for one year.

Vicki Zarrodeen, 43, of Quebec Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen vehicle on Bohemia Road, Hastings, on June 13, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. She gave a blood alcohol reading of 238 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. The court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and banned her from driving for two years.

Justin Winsley, 22, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to causing £1,000 damage to a window at West St Leonards Railway Station on August 11. He also indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of a lock-knife at West St Leonards Railway Station on the same date. The court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and ordered him to pay £500 in compensation.

Daniel Adams, 39, of Fairmount Road, Bexhill, indicated guilty pleas to being in possession of quantities of heroin and crack cocaine at Eastbourne on April 20. He also pleaded guilty to driving a Suzuki vehicle on Princes Road, Eastbourne on April 20, with no licence or insurance. He was fined a total of £360 and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

Gayle Valentine, 49, of Whitefriars Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall vehicle on Sedlescombe Road, St Leonards, on April 24, while over the drink drive limit. She gave a blood alcohol reading of 124 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. She was fined 380 and banned from driving for 14 months.

Richard Disbrey, 33, of North Circular Road, Neasden, London, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Hastings on February 1. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £30 in compensation.

Anne Marie Penfold, 43, of Warrior Square, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to causing £600 damage to the windscreen of a vehicle at Hastings on March 4. She was fined £80 and ordered to pay £75 in compensation.

Jessica Oram, 20, of Southwater Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man and causing him actual bodily harm. The offence took place at Hastings on March 14. She was given a one year conditional discharge.

Stewart Glazier, 35, of Ditchling Drive, Hastings, pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a woman by sending her unwanted messages and calls and making unwanted visits. The offence took place at Hastings between January 26 and June 18. The court made a community order and fined him £169. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

Millie Allen, 24, of Chiltern Drive, Hastings, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a Citroen vehicle. The offence took place at Chiltern Drive on August 25. She also pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour on the same date. She was given a one year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £148 in compensation.

Donna Battams, 58, of The Close, Rye, indicated a plea of guilty to behaving in an indecent manner by exposing her buttocks and genitals in a public place. The offence took place at Rye on August 26 and happened while a court community order was still in place for an earlier offence of sexual assault on a male and assault on an emergency worker. She was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for 18 months. Magistrates made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement.

Shanar Rahman, 28, of Horntye Road, St Leonards, was found guilty of using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Hastings on September 23. He was fined £276 and ordered to pay £620 in prosecution costs.
