Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two people were reportedly seen stealing a handbag at a Chichester supermarket.

At about 1.10pm on Sunday July 4 a woman used a self-service checkout at Tesco Extra in Fishbourne Road East, Chichester, but on completing her purchase and exiting the store she left behind her handbag, containing personal items and a large quantity of cash.

Within minutes she realised what had happened and went straight back to the shop but the handbag had already disappeared.
