Man arrested and machete seized following Selsey incident

A man has been arrested and a machete was seized from a property following an incident in Selsey yesterday (Wednesday 27).

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man in Elm Tree Close in Selsey at about 4.45pm.

He was arrested on suspicion of affray after police received a report that a machete had been waved at a driver nearby earlier in the day.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "The arrest took place safely and without incident and there was no danger to local residents.

"Police seized a machete at the address."

The man was released under investigation after being interviewed.
