A man was cut in an unprovoked attack in Storrington.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault at a petrol station in the village.

The incident, on Thursday 10 June, happened at an Esso garage in Pulborough Road, said police. As the victim went inside to pay a group of four men in a white convertible BMW car made a comment towards him, which he replied to.

Two of the men got out of the vehicle and one of them hit the victim twice on the head, causing a cut behind his ear. The group then left the scene.

A spokesman said: “Officers investigating the matter believe the man pictured could help with their enquiries.

“Anyone who recognises him, or who has any other information about what happened, is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 1544 of 10/06.”
