Murder charge after man dies from injuries in Eastbourne

A man has been charged with murder after a 58-year-old grandfather died in an Eastbourne care home.

Graeme Hardie died on March 5 this year – a year and a half after being seriously injured in a collision in Aberdeen.

He was being cared for at Chaseley Trust to be close to family, Aberdeen newspaper the Evening Express reported.

Police Scotland confirmed Michael Scott, 39, has been charged in connection with Hardie’s death.

He was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday (June 25).

It comes after the collision outside the Staging Post Pub in Bucksburn on July 11, 2018.

Mr Hardie was left fighting for his life after the incident, but sadly died earlier this year.

He is said to have left behind three children and five grandchildren.
