Detectives do not know who the items belong to but believe they may have been stolen in a burglary, and have urged their owners to come forward.

The jewellery was taken after the Henfield man’s car was searched on Monday December 29.

Detective constable Oliver Summers said: “We need to identify who the necklaces belong to so we can return them to their rightful owners.

“If the necklaces have been stolen, this could also help us prove who took them and to bring the offenders to justice.

“If you have any ideas who they belong to, please contact us.”

A 28-year-old man has been questioned on suspicion of burglary before being released on bail until February 7.
