Police are investigating a series of burglaries across Brighton, Portslade and Shoreham, in which four family homes were targeted over a six-day period.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the incidents took place on October 24, 25 and 29, with all four properties occupied by families of South Asian heritage. Gold is believed to have been the primary target in the offences, the police spokesperson added.

Officers have launched investigations and are carrying out enquiries to identify those responsible.

Detective Inspector Duncan Lloyd said: "While we do not want to cause unnecessary alarm, by raising awareness of these incidents, extra steps can be taken to enhance security at home.

"Simple measures such as securely storing valuables, leaving a light on in the evenings, and checking doors and windows are properly locked can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.

"If you've witnessed any behaviour that stood out as suspicious, have any information to report, or if you believe attempts may have been made to enter your address, we urge you to come forward and contact police."
