Police name St Leonards murder victim as man is charged

Police have identified the man whose body was found in a St Leonards property, while another man has been charged with murder.

Police discovered the body of a man inside a property in Magdalen Road on Thursday (April 8). He has since been identified as 51-year-old Darren Alderton, from St Leonards, police said.

Officers launched a murder investigation and arrested a man in North London on Monday evening (April 12) in connection with the death.

On Wednesday (April 14) Seyed Iman Tabarhosseini, 37, unemployed, of no fixed address, was charged with murder, police have confirmed.


He has been remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court later in the day.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers said: “This continues to be a fast-moving investigation and we would like to thank the public for their assistance with this matter.

“We continue to appeal to anyone who thinks they might have information to assist our investigation, to come forward to us.
