Police probe after Newhaven house fire

Police are investigating after a fire broke out at a property in Newhaven sparking an emergency response.

Three fire engines were sent to the property in Fullwood Avenue, Newhaven, at 9.50pm on Sunday, February 16.

An East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with two hose reels.”

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “About 9.51pm on Sunday, February 16, police were contacted by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service following a fire at a house in Fullwood Avenue, Newhaven.

“The incident remains under investigation at this stage, and anyone with any information is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Burley.”

Police have yet to reveal the cause of the fire.
