Police searching for wanted Eastbourne man offer financial reward

Police have offered a £500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a wanted Eastbourne man.

Police said 25-year-old Darryl Dempsey is ‘unlawfully at large’ from the hospital where he has been receiving care and treatment.

Dempsey, who comes from Eastbourne, is described as white, 5ft 9in, of medium build with short dark brown hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a black Armani t-shirt with the word “Armani” in gold letters across the chest, black knee length shorts, blue “Air Max” trainers and was carrying a dark blue jumper.

He left the hospital on June 30 and has not been seen since, police said.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Dempsey was sentenced on 18 October 2019 at Swansea Crown Court for using a firearm with intent to prevent arrest, actual bodily harm, driving while disqualified, aggravated taking of a tractor and a car, stealing another car, and criminal damage.

“Anyone who sees Dempsey or has any other information that might help, is asked not to approach him, but to contact the police on 999 or 101, quoting serial 542 of 30/06.
