Police to step up Southwater patrols after stabbing

Police are stepping up patrols in Southwater amid concerns over crime and antisocial behaviour.

Teenage gangs gathering in large groups and intimidating shoppers in the village have been branded ‘wild animals’.

And on Easter Sunday a man was stabbed in the back in an attack in Lintot Square.

It is the third stabbing in a week in Horsham District and follows incidents in Billingshurst and Horsham Park.

Police at the scene of the stabbing.

Now Horsham Police have said they are stepping up patrols in Southwater to address the concerns around crime and antisocial behaviour.

A spokesman added: “We are increasing patrols in the area and will be in Lintot Square from 4pm today (April 6) all evening. Please come and talk to us about anything you want to raise.”
