Benjamin Grimmett, now 22, of Church Road in Rustington, was sentenced to 28 months in prison and banned from driving for 50 months at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday, July 9. He had previously pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, possession of Class A and B drugs and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Jordan Murphy, 24, from Shoreham, was jailed for nine years on Monday, July 12, after being found guilty of rape, common assault and committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence. Following a trial at Lewes Crown Court, Murphy was sentenced to nine years in prison for rape, one year for the attempted sexual offence and six months for common assault, all to run concurrently. He was also placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
