Three East Grinstead garages broken into: motorbike, chainsaw and chipper stolen, say Sussex Police

Sussex Police have issued new burglary alerts after three garages were broken into in East Grinstead last week.

The first incident happened at Court Crescent between 11pm on Tuesday, December 6, and 7am the following morning.

Police said the garage was broken into but nothing was stolen. “The items that were locked up in garage appeared to be in tack, no line of enquiry,” they said.

The crime reference is 0264.

The second incident happened at Stephenson Drive at 12.15am on Friday, December 9. Police said a free rider motorbike was stolen from a garage, which is attached to a main property. They added that the KTM 350- dirt bike does not have vehicle registration plates. The crime reference is 0783.

The third incident occurred on Glendyne Way on Friday, December 9, between 6pm-10pm.

A police spokesperson said the victim had parked his van in front of the garage door but the van was pushed back so the door could be opened and the garage locks were damaged. They said the stolen items included a large number of tools for work as well as power tools, a chain saw, a climbing saw and a towable chipper.

The crime refence is 1276.
