Uckfield man wanted by police over online child sex abuse investigation

Police are searching for a 46-year-old man who is wanted for failing to report on police bail on 21 April.

Scott Eric Nye has an address in Uckfield but also has family connections in Sheffield, and enquiries are also being made there, police said.

Following an investigation by officers from the Sussex Police Paedophile Online Investigation Team, the CPS have authorised his prosecution for alleged online child sex abuse offences.

Nye is described as white, balding, 6ft, and of medium build, police said.

Detective Constable Gary Baker said: “Scott Nye has failed to comply with bail conditions and surrender to police custody.

“If you have seen him or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting Sussex reference 47190091813.”

No child has been at physical risk in relation to this case, police confirmed.
