The Eastbourne Shed project members found vandalism all over the walls of the shed on Fort Lane.

The project is where people aged 50 plus can enjoy pottering about in a shed with like-minded people. ‘Shedders’ are involved in woodworking, refurbishing old tools and machines, personal projects and community projects.

It now has three sheds – Eastbourne Shed on Fort Lane, Langney Shed at Langney Priory, and Hampden Park Shed.

The group posted, “We have been working hard to support our community. Do you think we deserve this?”

In reaction to the news, Eastbourne Homebase donated cleaning materials and on November 3 the group woke up to find that Environment First had cleaned off the graffiti, and the local community had helped repaint the walls too.

The Eastbourne Shed project said, “Thank you to the people who cleaned this up, much appreciated.”

Police say they have been made aware of the incident and have visited the site. Anyone with any information about this are asked to report online or call 101 quoting 47200189123.
