ready for the sponsored soft toy bungee to raise money for the cause which saw many supporters contribute online.

Emma Nicholls, 36, from Ford, came up with the idea for ogre 'Jumping Jeff' to lead the fund-raising event and was ogre-whelmed at the response.

She said, "We were thinking of ideas to raise money and thought Jeff could do a bungee jump. A total of 352.68 has been raised altogether including online donations.

"Our sponsor page is still open and the current total doesn't include all the money raised from the simultaneous worldwide jumps on Sunday."

Emma, who suffers from ME, was looking for a way to help after she she built up an online support network of friends and found that two of them were victims to the disease.

As she spends most of her days at home resting, she decided to dedicate her time to generating awareness and donations for the charity, assuring that the Bognor bungee was just the beginning of her plans.

She said: "This is the first fundraising event Jeff Ogre and his friends have organised and we have been completely ogre-whelmed

by everyone's support."

Emma is hoping to raise more money with her next idea for a sponsored Bognor-birdman style competition, but with teddies in homemade flying machines.
