Death of comedy actor Norman Wisdom

COMIC actor Sir Norman Wisdom, who lived in West Chiltington for many years, has died aged 95.

The London-born star, known for his slapstick film roles in the 1950s and 1960s, was also the president of Horsham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.

His family said he died at a nursing home on the Isle of Man on Monday evening, having suffered a series of strokes over the past six months.

Sir Norman’s son Nick has run Wisdom Sports shop in Haywards Heath for several years.
