Decorations donated to charity

The team at Sainsbury’s Horsham has provided the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity with a selection of colourful decorations.

On Tuesday January 12, Jane Etheridge, PR ambassador and charity co-ordinator, visited the charity at Ingfield Manor.

The colourful and traditional decorations being donated include hanging as well as standalone decorations.

Sainsbury’s Horsham deputy store manager, Chris Le Fort, said: “We had lots of really nice comments about our decorations this year so I’m really pleased that we can give them a new lease of life next year by donating them to Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.

“I hope they get as much enjoyment out of them as our customers and colleagues did this year.”

Marielle Birks, community fundraiser from Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity added: “I’d like to thanks the team at Sainsbury’s Horsham for this generous donation. We’ll certainly be putting them to good use. The decorations will look fantastic in our school.”

The donation helps to ensure Sainsbury’s maintain its commitment to ‘No Waste to Landfill’. The retailer achieved zero waste to landfill at all stores in 2013 and customers can also recycle batteries, mixed paper and card, mixed cans, mixed glass and plastics throughout 2016 at the Horsham store’s recycling centre which complements existing kerbside collections.
