A missing dog halted Bluebell Line services for about an hour when it ran in front of the train for more than five miles rom East Grinstead to Horsted Keynes station.
Punch and Judy man Ray Sparkes eventually used the rope from his act to snare it.
The dog was unhurt, but Ray got a nip for his efforts.
