Don't forget to look skyward at the Bognor carnival

Visitors and residents are encouraged to look skywards above Bognor Regis seafront on Saturday (June 13) and join the celebration of its world-class beach.

A fly-past has been organised between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on June 13 to coincide with the return of the carnival.

The aerial display, complete with wingwalkers, will acknowledge the fact Bognor has achieved the prestigious Blue Flag and Quality Coast awards simultaneously for the first time.

Arun District Council has arranged for the aeroplanes to take to the sky. Its cabinet member for economic and cultural development, Norman Dingemans, said: "We are rightly proud of the fact that we have some of the best beaches in the world right here in our district and we want to shout about it.

"We decided to add a little something different to this year's festivities by organising this fly-past.

"Make your way to the beach between 1.30pm and 2.30pm and join the celebrations. You will be standing on some of the best shores in the whole world."
