Downlands’ ‘Reach for the Stars’ group visit Cambridge Universities

Thirty-four Year 11 Downlands students took part in a Reach for the Stars trip to Cambridge University on Friday 24th January.
We spent the morning at Churchilll College listening to a talk about the university and its admissions process. We were then treated to a guided tour of the campus including university buildings, sports facilities, bars and halls of residence, after which we enjoyed a two course lunch in the impressive dining hall.
In the afternoon, we walked past the Cambridge University Copyright library and into the city centre where we were given a tour around Pembroke College and St Catherine’s College. Both sites are extremely beautiful and impressive.
It was a fantastic day!
