Dream tea in Ford is the perfect blend

Members of Edgcumbes raised more than £2,000 as part of their Dream Come True afternoon tea party.

The company, based in Ford Lane, was fundraising for Dreams Come True, a children’s charity which grants wishes for terminally-ill youngsters and their families.

Alice Rendle, Edgcumbes company director, said she was thrilled by the amount of cash raised, adding more donations were expected to come through later this week.

“It went really, really well because the weather was stunning,” she said. “I never thought that when I decided to take on this event we would ever raise this much money.

“I am stunned by the generosity of everyone.”

About 50 people took part in the dream tea afternoon, raising £600 on the day.

The rest of the money has been donated by a number of tea suppliers who work with Edcgumbes.

Alice added: “This is what surprised me the most. The suppliers didn’t have to be so generous. It was lovely.”

Edgcumbes’ own tea consultant, Malcolm Ferris Lay, created his own unique blend of tea to mark the occasion. Other attractions included a children’s trampoline, raffle and croquet.
