Driver may have witnessed St Leonards assault

Sussex Police believe the driver of this car may have witnessed an assault in St Leonards

Two men and a woman were injured in an unprovoked attack in West Hill Road, between Keats Close and St Vincents Road, at about 12.45am on December 20.

Sussex Police have today (April 7) released an appeal for information.

A spokesman said the suspects were part of a group that were walking down West Hill Road towards Keats Close when they were involved in an altercation with the victims walking in the other direction.

The suspects are described as being white and aged 16 to 40.

It is believed there were two girls among the group.

Officers are keen to identify the driver of a two-tone Morgan style car who may have seen what happened.

Detective Constable Stuart Black said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack whereby the victim – a 37-year-old man – sustained significant facial injuries.

“We would like to trace the driver, who we believe may be a key witness to the incident.”
