Driving ban for MOT tester

MOT Tester Jamie Lister has been given an 18-month ban by Hastings magistrates after admitting drink driving.

He was found in a hedge in his Vauxhall Vectra in Catsfield Road by a PCSO on November 29 and was almost three times over the legal limit.

The 26-year-old unemployed mechanic told the court he had been drinking with his father after being made redundant from the garage where he worked.

Lister, of Bolebrook Road, Bexhill, admitted driving with excess alcohol and was ordered to attend a drink drivers' rehabilitation course which reduced his two year ban by six months.

He was also sentenced to a 12 month community order for 80 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay 60 prosecution costs.
