Durrington pair's longest ride

BIKING friends Malcolm Campbell and Steve Powell are preparing for their longest ride so far.

The pair will attempt the 1,100 miles from Land's End to John o'Groats in a bid to raise 2,000 for charity.

Malcolm, of Mendip Road, Durrington, and Steve, of Gaisford Road, Worthing, will embark on the trip on Sunday, May 6, and hope to complete the route in 12 days.

Malcolm, 54, said: "We regularly go on rides of around 50 miles and have been putting in a lot of practice, but this is the longest we will have ever gone. We are really looking forward to it, though."

Malcolm, a member of Offington Park Methodist Church, hopes the trip will raise 2,000 for the Methodist Homes for the Aged charity, which provides housing, care and support for vulnerable older people.
