E-fit of armed Bersted robber released

Police have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a knifepoint robbery in Bersted.

The 29-year-old victim had been to a cashpoint in Bersted Parade, Chichester Road, before hearing two men behind him as he turned into an alleyway.

One of them grabbed his jacket and the victim noticed a hunting style knife in his hand. He demanded money and then threatened him.

The victim handed over the cash and both men headed out of the alleyway towards Collyer Avenue.

The first suspect who had the knife is described as white, 6ft 3ins, balding and of stocky build.

He had three black outlined tattooed stars on the left hand side of his neck and was wearing a black coat and black jeans.

The second suspect is described as smaller than his accomplice, aged in his 20s. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black coat, dark blue jeans and black trainers. Both men spoke with Eastern European accents.

The incident happened at 7.50am on January 20.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident or anyone with information, they should call 101 quoting serial 0223 of 20 January.
