Eats and a treat for seniors

SENIOR citizens in Ninfield enjoyed a real treat last Saturday afternoon when the village carnival committee laid on afternoon tea and entertainment for some 70 residents aged 60 or more.

The event was held in Ninfield Memorial Hall and featured a show, Deja Revue, presented by the Brighton Revue Company, which carnival committee secretary Mhairi Munro-Parks said “was very well received by one and all”.

She added: “Following the show, cakes and sandwiches prepared by carnival committee members were served and I think everyone had a good time. It’s something the carnival committee does annually for the local over-60s.”

This year’s Ninfield Carnival is on Saturday, July 16 on the theme, myths and legends.

Prior to that, on Bank Holiday Monday, May 2, the village stages its annual pram race.
