Eddie Izzard dates on hold

Former Bexhill resident Eddie, an honorary patron of the Pavilion, had been due to perform on February 11 and 12.

The event was to raise funds for the completion of the De La Warr Pavilion's education studio.

A public announcement of the dates was due to be made today.

Unfortunately the actor, writer and stand-up had to cancel the gig due to last minute filming commitments.

He has promised to return to the venue as soon as his busy schedule allows.

Eddie was going to present an evening of 'one word improv' with fellow performers and then return the following night with top - comic Jo Brand in support.

A Pavilion spokes-man said yesterday: "He called last night to say his dates clash with some filming, but he will be coming at a later stage."

They said Eddie was still excited to be coming to the Pavilion and hoped to make an announcement in the New Year. "Watch this space for details."
