Edward Jones opens in Little Common

"Very, very happy", is how Bexhill town Mayor Patrick Douart described his feelings when he officially opened Edward Jones Investments in Little Common on Tuesday.

Speaking after cutting the ribbon at the official opening ceremony, at the Cooden Sea Road offices, he said he was delighted to see this, "much needed type of business", opening in Little Common.

The refurbished offices are one of three hundred branches nationwide, and Financial Advisor of the Little Common branch, David Dixon said he chose this location to open the offices as he believes the service they offer was needed in the area.

He said: "I chose Little Common because I felt this was the best location to suit my needs and the area really didn't have the service that we can offer. I did a lot of research and felt that Little Common would benefit."

Founded in 1871, and with thirteen hundred branches worldwide, the services Edward Jones offer include, financial advice on pensions, investments, the stock market, and insurance needs for individual customers and business men.

Cllr Douart believes that this type of business is much needed in the current financial crisis.

He said: "I'm very, very happy to see a new business opening in Little Common and I feel that this is a much needed type of business. Local people can come and discuss their investments and have their questions and enquiries answered on a one to one basis. It's very reasurring for investors, in this current financial climate, to know there is an established local business where they can go for advice".

He added: "It's very courageous to start a business at the present time and I wish them prosperity."
