Voters across Adur and Worthing will head to the polls today in one of the tightest general elections in living memory.

National opinion polls have shown Conservatives and Labour neck and neck over the last few days, and even if one party emerges the winner, neither are expected to have a majority of MPs in the House of Commons.

In the Worthing West, East Worthing and Shoreham and Arundel and South Downs seats, the Conservatives will be hoping to hold on to their sizeable majorities, while UKIP has made East Worthing and Shoreham one of its top targets.

Polls will be open until 10pm but will remain open for voters in the queue by the closing time.

Results are expected to be declared at around 6am.
