Elf Trail is bighit at Rye TIC

Visitors to the Lion Street Centre were able to meet Santa’s elves who were serving mince pies and mulled wine as part of the Rye Christmas Festival activities, and this week the TIC welcomed local author Nathan Goodwin who spent time signing his newly published book ‘Hiding the Past’, a fictional book based in Rye and the surrounding area.

TIC manager Tracey Young said: “‘Our approach to Christmas this year has been to ensure there is something for everyone at the TIC.

“Children were enthralled by Santa’s elves and have enjoyed taking part in the Rye Christmas Elf Trail which continues to run until Christmas Eve.

“Mince pies and mulled wine were very well received by those waiting to watch the Father Christmas parade through the streets of Rye, and this week we were delighted that renowned local author Nathan Goodwin was able to join us for a book launch.”

There is still time for children to take part in the Elf Trail which involves finding the names of twenty elves hiding in the shop windows of Rye.

Tracey Young said: “On returning the entry form to the TIC, each child who completes it will receive a small treat for helping us locate the missing elves.”

Forms are available from the TIC itself or from Rye Library, in the High Street.
